There’s how everyone else does it, and then there’s how the successful people do it. A great example of the difference can be seen in watching the movie, The Pursuit of Happyness.

How many of you have ever just done enough, done what everyone else is doing. It can’t really make that much difference if I save 8 minutes here and 8 minutes there.

The reality is it truly is the little things that make the difference. Quoting Warren Buffet, “it’s not necessary to do extraordinary things to get extraordinary results”

You want to make a difference, you want to sell more. Then you have to do something different. Who do you know that’s a great sales person? Do they do the same things as everyone else? Or do they lead the pack? In order to get what you’ve never got you must do what you’ve never done.

The next time you have a sales opportunity, treat it like it’s the most important thing you will do that day. What do you need to do to make it special or to make it different than all the others? How can you leave someone thinking, “WOW, I am glad I got to talk to you today?”
