Being The Leader in Your Small Business Is Critical to Its Success?

Many small business owners are great technicians but struggle to be the leader that brings their business to the next level!

What do you think when someone says, “Wow, he’s a good leader” or “People just follow him everywhere he goes”? We all can recognize these people especially in business. Really successful business owners are GREAT leaders or have the leadership in place to get them where they are.

So what does it take to be a great leader and why are some people better leaders than others?

Many of us would agree that if it weren’t for the McDonald brothers, McDonalds wouldn’t exist. However, less known truth is that there may only be only one McDonald’s location if Ray Krock didn’t take their business to the next level. Same is true for Apple computers. Steve Wozniak created the Apple computer out of his garage. However, Steve Jobs took it to the next level to be the company we know it to be today.

You’ve heard the statement, “leaders are born not made”. That is in large part true; however everyone has some leadership ability in them. If you desire to be a better leader, the key is knowing what you’re good at and what you need to improve on. The best book I’ve ever read, in regards to leadership, is The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell.

The point is you may be another Steve Wozniak, or the McDonald brothers and limited with your success based on your level of leadership. If you desire more in your life, you’ll need to go one of two routes. Either, find a Ray Krock, Steve Jobs or someone to help you get to the next level or discover the true leadership potential in yourself. Either way… it starts with you.
